DF ARTISTS WELCOMES CHAOS STRING QUARTET TO ITS ROSTER

Welcome to Chaos String Quartet! Founded in 2019 on the interdisciplinary concept of chaos, the Chaos String Quartet combines a highly refined ensemble culture and a fiery vitality with a passion for exploring experimental and improvisational approaches. With their affinity for embracing unpredictability and risk-taking, the ensemble’s members bring a unique dynamism and vibrancy to their playing featuring a whole universe of sounds.
Recently selected as a BBC Radio 3 New Generation Artist 2023-2025, the Chaos String Quartet is rapidly establishing itself on the international music scene. The Quartet has been awarded at the most prestigious international competitions, including ARD (2022), Bordeaux (2022), Haydn (2023) and Bad Tölz (2023). Additional successes include winning the 2nd Prize at Budapest’s 2021 Bartók World Competition and the Premio V. E. Rimbotti in Italy.

The Chaos String Quartet was invited to music festivals such as the Schwetzingen SWR Festival, the Schwarzwald Musikfestival, the Mozartfest Würzburg, Les Musicales de Normandie, the Davos Festival, the Ravenna Festival, the Festival del Quartetto Firenze, Lockenhaus, the Gent Festival van Vlaanderen, the Festival Academy Budapest, and the Heidelberger Streichquartettfest, among others. In 2023, the ensemble made its debut at the Musikverein in Vienna and the Elbphilharmonie Hamburg.

Mentored by Prof. Johannes Meissl in Vienna through the ECMAster program, the quartet additionally completed a postgraduate course at the Scuola di Musica di Fiesole with the Cuarteto Casals. The ensemble received additional important musical impulses from artists such as Eberhard Feltz, Patrick Jüdt, Rainer Schmidt, Hatto Beyerle, András Keller and Oliver Wille.

The group has worked with artists like Nicolas Baldeyrou, Alexander Ullman, Giampaolo Bandini, Avri Levitan, Hyung-ki Joo and Christoph Zimper. In addition, the Quartet had the opportunity to work with composer Helmut Lachenmann on his 2nd quartet, “Reigen seliger Geister”.

The quartet is a member of the Chamber Music Association “Le Dimore del Quartetto” and has been selected for the promotional program “New Austrian Sound of Music”.

Bas Jongen plays a cello by Hendrick Jacobs (Amsterdam, 1696), kindly loaned to him by the Dutch Musical Instruments Foundation (NMF).

GABRIELE MIRABASSI AND SIMONE ZANCHINI IN POTENZA FOR ASSOCIAZIONE XCOSMOPOLIS.

“The cat and the fox” Project will arrive in Pignola (Potenza) for festa della Musica 2023 by Xcosmopolis at Dimora Giorni on June 21st at 7,30pm.

The cat and the fox is a musical encounter between these two great virtuosos and their instruments as protagonists of the international music scene. The musical intersection that distinguishes both allows them to express themselves easily from time to time in the world of jazz and classical music. With this duo, the spirit of the rhythms of South America and the pulsating depth of the old swing, mingle with the sounds of today’s modern jazz, which is expressed in the compositional style of both. The eclecticism of the two musicians allowed them to wander and improvise in an extemporaneous manner with a very high communicative interplay, alternating original compositions with famous standards of the Latin-American repertoire.

QUARTETTO WERTHER IN PESARO FOR ENTE CONCERTI

The talented musicians of Quartetto Werther, one of the most brilliant Italian ensembles on the rise in the national and international concert scene, will perform in Pesaro on April 26th 9pm at Teatro Sperimentale for Ente Concerti. In Pesaro the Quartet will propose a fascinating journey between music and the history of the original chamber music reading for this formation, in a stylistic comparison between personal juvenile solutions and the maturity of the authors presented.

ANNA KRAVTCHENKO IN RECITAL AT TEATRO ALIGHIERI IN RAVENNA

SIMONE ZANCHINI IN TOUR WITH LUIGI CHERUBINI ORCHESTRA

The Italian accordeonist Simone Zanchini will perform in tour with Luigi Cherubini Youth Orchestra, founded by the world renowned conductor Riccardo Muti.

The tour includes four dates and a wonderful repertoire for accordeon and orchestra, including works composed for Simone Zanchini by Roberto Di Marino.

ANNA KRAVTCHENKO’S TOUR IN MARCH IN SICILY AND CALABRIA

Anna Kravtchenko will tour Sicily and Calabria in March 2023. The renowned Ukrainian naturalised Italian pianist will play in Messina at Palacultura Antonello (04/03), Palermo at Teatro Politeama (06/03), Modica at palazzo della Cultura (08/03), Cosenza at Teatro Rendano (10/03), Acri at Sala delle Colonne (25/03), Palmi at Teatro Manfronce (26/03), Lamezia Terme at Teatro Grandinetti (28/03).

During the entire tour she will perform her mail 2023 musical project including Franz Joseph Haydn’s Piano Sonata Sonata in e Major Hob.XVI: 13, Robert Schumann’s Carnaval op. 9 and Pëtr Il’ič Čajkovskij’s The Seasons op. 37b.

“The cat and the fox” Project arrives in Mestre! Gabriele Mirabassi and Simone Zanchini will perform at Teatro Toniolo in Mestre on February 11th 2023 at 7,30.

The piano quartet Quartetto Werther will play in Sicily in Messina at Palacultura Antonello on Februry 18th 2023 at 6pm for the winter season of Associazione Bellini. The young and talented musicians Misia Iannoni Sebastianini, violin, Martina Santarone, alto, Vladimir Bogdanovic, cello and Antonino Fiumara, piano, will perform music by Strauss (piano quartet op.13) and Brahms (piano quartet op.60).
