DF ARTISTS WELCOMES THE GREAT BRAZILIAN PIANIST RICARDO CASTRO TO ITS ROSTER.
DF Artists is delighted to welcome the grat Brazilian pianist Ricardo Castro to its roster.
Since winning the prestigious Leeds Competition, Ricardo Castro has performed with top-tier orchestras such as the Leipzig Gewandhaus, the Zurich Tonhalle, the BBC London Philharmonic, the Academy of St. Martin in the Fields, the City of Birmingham, the Tokyo Philharmonic, the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande, and the Mozarteum Salzburg. He has performed at the most prestigious venues, including the Barbican Centre and Queen Elizabeth Hall in London, the Musikverein in Vienna, the Palau de la Música in Barcelona, the Alte Oper Frankfurt, the Auditorio Nacional in Madrid, and the Théâtre des Champs-Elysées in Paris, collaborating with luminaries such as Sir Simon Rattle, Martha Argerich, and Maria Joao Pires. His decades-long collaborations with Martha Argerich and Maria Joao Pires are significant, with whom he has performed and recorded countless times (Deutsche Grammophon, Martha Argerich Project, Ars Nova, etc.).
In addition to his successes as a performer, Castro has also made a significant impact as a conductor.
In 2007, he founded the NEOJIBA program, inspired by the Venezuelan system, with the aim of democratizing music education and providing transformative opportunities for disadvantaged youth in Brazil. As general and artistic director, he has led the NEOJIBA Orchestra in numerous celebrated performances both nationally and on international tours.
